YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!
Hey guys, y'all are cool right😊? Today's a critical topic. One that is a scare to many, not just people but the whole world at large. We talking of the new virus in town, the Corona virus.
I bet we all know where this new virus originated from, its not news. But how do people perceive this, what do they have to say, are they safe? Well, there has been so many questions to the scientists, the press, and the government as well. People have been fed false information from various sources not knowing which to believe. We're all at risk from bad information.
The virus is believed to be fatal and there's currently no known cure for it. It is said that it cannot survive outside a host for a long period while other sources claim that it takes days on a surface before it dies out. This literally means, very many people are at risk of being infected because we all come across different surfaces each day. How contradicting. The virus is transmitted through human to human contact via droplets emitted from an infected person through coughing or sneezing as stated by Singapore's Health Minister Mr. Gan Kim Young. The outbreak has affected transportation for instance in Nairobi - Kenya, guests have canceled their plans to travel and government officials have been banned from traveling as well. The UK government advises against all travel to China therefore the travel industry has been massively affected with airlines cutting flights and tourists canceling business trips and holidays.
There's an outcry even with those doing small businesses. People are becoming more cautious. Others avoid activities that might expose them to the risk of infections such as going out shopping. Therefore, restaurants and shops have reported a fall in customer demand. The tourism industry has largley been affected as well, as international conferences have been suspended and tourists are not traveling due to fear.

How prepared are people in this? Staying indoors, not traveling, avoiding purchasing foods, while in other countries, schools have been suspended and public places closed.
As much as the outbreak is serious, people have tried to lessen the tension by making comical statements, short videos and images.

ReplyDeleteWe are all going to die someday so we have no say here. Our government is also shitty since nothing has been made to make Kenyans feel more safe other than the scares to our health. It is scary that noone is even present to give hope n faith that the health facilities are doin their best to provide a cute and also the preventive measures that citizens can abide by. Am so mad that our leaders are saying nothing
